Lambda Mail

Terms of Use

These terms cover the Lambda Mail app for Mac and this website. By using either one, you agree to them. We wrote them in plain words. What happens to your data is on the Privacy page.

The app

Lambda Mail is a Mac app that connects your Mac to your Gmail account. It is made by an independent developer. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Google or Apple. Gmail is a trademark of Google LLC.

When you get Lambda Mail from the Mac App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement is your license to use the app, and these terms add to it. Where the two differ about the app, Apple's agreement applies.

The beta is free and comes through Apple's TestFlight app, which has its own terms. A beta is a test version: it can have bugs, it stops working when its build expires, and an update may reset some settings.

Buying Lambda Mail

Lambda Mail will be sold on the Mac App Store. The App Store shows the price, what you get and any free trial before you buy. Apple handles every payment, charges it to your Apple Account, and never shares your payment details with us.

Your Gmail account

You need your own Google account, and you use it under Google's Terms of Service. Lambda Mail reaches your mail only with the access you give it, through Sign in with Google or an app password. You can end that access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Lambda Mail does what you tell it to in your Gmail account. When you archive, label or delete mail, the change happens in Gmail. Mail you delete from Trash or Spam, or with Delete All Messages, is gone for good. Keep your own copy of mail you can't lose. Google lets you download all of it with Google Takeout.

Don't use Lambda Mail to send spam, to break the law, or to get into an account that isn't yours.

What stays yours

Your mail, your themes and your settings are yours. We never receive your mail. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to make Lambda Mail better, and we owe you nothing for that.

This website

The pages on this site are written in good faith and checked on the date each one shows, but apps, settings and prices change. Other companies' names are their trademarks, used here only to describe their products. If you join the beta, use your own email address.

No promises beyond these

We work hard to make Lambda Mail reliable, but the app and this website are provided as they are. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no other promises, written or implied, including that they will always work without errors or interruptions, or that they fit a particular purpose.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, including lost or deleted mail, that come from using Lambda Mail or this website. For any claim, the most we are liable for is what you paid for Lambda Mail in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, and nothing here takes away rights that the law where you live gives you.

Stopping

You can stop using Lambda Mail at any time: cancel any subscription in the App Store, delete the app, and end its access at Google. We may change the app or stop offering it. If we stop selling it, we'll say so on this website first.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date below. If you keep using Lambda Mail after a change, the new terms apply.
